Thanksgiving Day

I post this today because I am thankful. I am thankful for many things, first on my mind today is my grandmother who passed away sever months ago. This will be our first holiday without her presence here on Earth. She is missed terribly by all who knew her and loved her , especially her family. All we have now of life with her are our memories and I know for me are plentiful and wonderful. I cherish each one that comes to mind. She being the matriarch of this Lummus clan would expect us to carry on in the loving manner of which she taught us, and we are trying. We are clinging to old traditions and making changes for new that will help us to heal and that would also please her. I have no doubt that she is watching over us along with other family members and expecting continue in her memory. In my 36 years of existence and as far as I can remember my life has been a result of what she created and demanded of a family. These things have been carried down through each one us, from my father, and I will do the same. Today I am thankful that she was a part of my life and am thankful for the memories and for the family that I love so much. I am thankful for many other things today. I am thankful that I am alive and healthy, I am thankful that have a good job. I am thankful for Suzy and for all the love and friendship that she brings to my life. I am thankful for my daughter and that Patrick is home with us for this holiday. I am thankful that Adam is okay and that Josh is well taken care of. I am thankful for this country that allows us to be free and for those who died to ensure that freedom. I am thankful for so many other things in my life especially my faith of which I couldn't carry on without. In the words of my nanny, "Thank You Jesus".

Home from vacation

What A Week...... Spending 5 days on an island where there are only 60 permananet residents is very different from any other vacation I've ever had. It was fantastic and for as little to do as there was, were quite busy. There was no air conditioning, the main fridge produced little ice for the first 3 days, we used golf carts to move around dodging free roaming donkeys and cattle. The airport was a tiny bit smaller than the old Midway Saddle Club, we ate outside for every meal. Debbie's place over at the dive shop was my favorite and we hung out there a lot, eating, dancing, watching the dive boats come in and out. Every person we met was special and nice and welcomed us to their tiny island. The group of friends that we were with, 16 of us total, are some of the best people you would ever want to meet. Mike said in the car on the way home from the airport as we were cutting up and laughing, at Dick mostly, that "this was the thing you heard first when waking up and last when going to bed" and he was talking about laughter. We laughed until most of us were hoarse. We were there to celebrate Gary's birthday. I met Gary through Suzy and have become very good friends and I am happy to know him. The trip back was eventuful at first with the plane that brought us being broken and having to take a smaller plane in 3 different groups, but we made it safely home. I could go on and on about this trip, and maybe I will later. Another very memorable experience.

Arrival at Salt Cay

We arrived at the Salt Cay airtport yesterday afternoon after a very long day. Lef the house at 5:30am and didn't eat until 8:30 pm. The foos was awesome at Debbie's place which is also the dive shop. She has taken very good care of us so far. The first picture is the island and as you can see it's not very big, only 2 square miles. The sunset is from last night and you can see us leaving

I am almost out of battery so I will make this short for tonight. We have had a great time so far. Wish you were all here.

Moved 4 docks this weekend becuase they were almost sitting on dry land and got the carpet on the pontoon boat. I won't be back until next week so I will talk to you then.

One last thing.... Cheryl, what are they doing over there........... I thought the idea was to keep loyal customers.

Patrick Update

Thought you might like to see a funny picture of a 6 foot 5 kid in a pumpkin patch. I took this last month when I saw patrick out at school.

He is doing great and loving college. He pledged for a fraternity and accepted to Phi Kappa Tau. He has since become pledge president. Sorry the football team hasn't done all that well, but I bet that hasn't dampened anyone's spirits around the campus.

Oh my aching tooth

Okay, today I feel much better. Last week i was not a happy camper. It has not been very fun dealing with a tooth gone bad. I had planned on telling you about my weekend yesterday, but there was no way i was doing anything. I had what I would call an emergency root canal yesterday.

Suzy and I went to the Fox on Saturday evening to see Trisha Yearwood. The concert was amazing, she is great live. We have no pictures, which for us doesn't happen very often.

Sunday we worked on our project pontoon boat, well i should really now say that it is a complete rebuild. I do have pictures that i will post to show our progress.

Anna's first middle school basketball game is tonight. I am very proud of her for making the team.

Hello

This is the first day of my blog.
I am very new to blogging and thought that I would start with yesterday.

OCTOBER 31st is not just for witches it's for Suzy. Yesterday was her birthday and we had a few people over.
We had a good time as you can see.

Don't judge, you might look silly like this one day.

Anna was a twister girl for Halloween this year.
